I received a plate with cabbage, jerk chicken and 2 plantains. Yes I am trying to lose some weight. I ate a small portion before I left the parking lot. Wow! It was just what I wanted. It wasn't too spicy but full of jerk flavor. It also had a smoked flavor that I wasn't expecting, but put my tongue into a happy dance. It was delicious. Let me tell you, that detour was one of the best decisions I've made in a while. I went in with a simple hunger, and walked out a devoted fan. Let's talk about the oxtails. Oh. My. Goodness. Tender, flavorful, fall-off-the-bone oxtails that were clearly cooked with love and expertise. They were the star of the show, and rightfully so. But the supporting cast was equally impressive. The rice and peas were perfectly cooked, fluffy and seasoned just right. The cabbage was fresh and vibrant, a delightful counterpoint to the richness of the oxtails. And the sweet plantains? Caramelized perfection. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. You could tell that the ingredients were high quality and that the food was prepared with care. This wasn't just a quick meal; it was a culinary experience. Beyond the incredible food, the customer service was truly exceptional. The ladies working there were warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to serve. They made me feel like a regular, even on my first visit. “ First things first. I thoroughly enjoyed my interaction with the cashier. She was so patient with me as I navigated the menu for the first time. But the height of my experience was the fooood! I got an Ox Tail/Jerk Chicken combo w/ a slice of rum cake. The OT was so tender and flavorful. That JC, my GAWD!!! Fell. Off. The. Bone. I wasn't able to take pictures of my cake slice b4 biting into it with my bare hands! It was fresh, moist, decadent, sweet but not too sweet. Just excellent. BEAUTIFUL! ”

“ My husband and I have passed this place many times and decided to try it today. We ordered the jerk chicken and jerk ox tails. After arriving home I opened the container and was overwhelmed at the amount of food it contained. After serving the food and thanking God for such a bountiful feast we indulged in this spicy mixture of flavors. The chicken and ox tails were so tender and moist. Umm. The rice, plantain and cabbage were the perfect accompaniment to the meat. There was so much food we had leftovers. This was the perfect meal for us and I would strongly recommend Da Jerk restaurant to those who enjoy a good Jamaican meal as well as those who have never tried it. You won’t be disappointed. ”

The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat, and the rice and peas were full of flavor. I also loved the fried plantains—crispy outside, soft inside. “ Me and hubby are foodies of the DMV area and tried this place on the whim. I’m not going to lie finding a restaurant that’s worth the inflation is hard as of lately! And with the mixed reviews I was reading on the way to the restaurant I was hesitant. But this place right here hit on EVERY SINGLE LEVEL! We caught them on a late Monday afternoon so we had no wait time, the young lady behind the register was pleasant and extremely patient! The food!!! DELICIOUS! Nothing was dry! Everything had flavor! The gravy was flavorful but not too spicy! Jerk chicken was cooked To perfection , the goat was THE GOAT - tender - chef kiss. Oxtails fell off the bone! Even as someone who normally dosent care for the cabbage and rice and peas! The sweetness of the cabbage mixed with the intense flavor of the gravy on the rice and peas! Let’s just say!
